Programme Overview

The week will be full of amazing outdoor activities like including: Ghyll Scrambling, Rock Climbing, Canoeing, Mountain Biking and Via Ferrata.

You will certainly get your 'Adventure Fix' and with a dedicated group instructor who will be with you all week, helping and encouraging you, you'll surprise yourself with your achievements. You'll get to experience a one night expedition where you'll camp in the wild, either in a mountain hut, a tent or bivvying under the stars.

What You Might Do

MONDAY - Day 1

Meeting point at 12:00 - Penrith Train Station

Transfer to your Base Camp
Aspirations and plans for the week.
Exploring your environment.
An exhilarating lake dip.

TUESDAY - Day 2

FOCUS: A day full of new experiences and challenge, building your confident and resilience.

Ghyll Scrambling
Canoeing
Rock Climbing
Packing and preparing for your expedition.

WEDNESDAY - Day 3

FOCUS: An all day journey through the mountains to arrive at your camp in the wilderness.

Face new challenges.
Learn about self-reliance.
Experience a night in the wilderness under the stars.

THURSDAY - Day 4

FOCUS: High challenge will give you high rewards.

Challenge your abilities on the Via Ferrata Xtreme or Mountain Biking.
Learn about collaboration.
Become more self aware and an awareness of others.

FRIDAY - Day 5

FOCUS: Become more aware of your abilities and celebrate in your achievements.

Your instructor will prepare a personalised written reference. This is a record of your achievements during your Gold residential, and could be used for university or job applications.

What is Included

Base Camp
Your Base Camp will be at our private camping area (tents are provided). You'll also have access to an indoor space for socialising, cooking and washing. There is a full self catering kitchen, lounge area along with toilets and showers.
All Equipment
To include; Tents, Rucksacks, Stoves, Sleeping bags and sleeping mats, Maps, Technical activity equipment.
All Food
Breakfast, lunches and evening meals along with snacks will be will be arranged. It will be the teams responsibility to prepare and cook each day. We will supply the menu ideas.
Entry or registration fees
Some activities carry an additional fee or require a registration fee. These are covered in your programme cost.
Any Camping Fees
One of your nights you may be sleeping out under the stars in the mountains. If the weather does not allow us to do this, we will stay in a bunkhouse.
Qualified and Experienced staff throughout the week
All of our staff hold extensive outdoor qualifications and experience. They will be guiding you through the whole week.

Location

Experience the natural beauty of the Lake District National Park. This programme will be based from a private camp area and rooms near to Ullswater, in the Northern Lakes. Your activities will take place in the Ullswater and Keswick valleys.

What You'll Need To Arrange

Your own transport to and from Penrith Train station.
Your personal clothing and outdoor gear. A kit list will be sent to you.

Getting there

Meeting Point: Penrith Train Station at 12:00

Once the team has assembled you will be transferred to your Base Camp at: Watermillock Village Hall.
